The lonely robin, 20th century

Pastel on Windsor cardboard
29.5x23 cm, framed 42x49 cm

Francesco Coppa, is a painter originally from Acireale, where he was born in 1954. Since he was a child his main interest is to express what he sees. From Acireale he moved to the baroque city of Noto. Many of his works are found at the Cathedral of Noto and in several Roman churches. He is an artist who mainly deals with genre scenes and landscapes. After an impressionist phase in the seventies, he deepens the neo-realistic experience until he arrives at a search for "synthesis" on the figure and architectural elements, with an absolute minimalist imprint. The work is signed on the back.
